Mumbai is a bustling Indian city where the sweeping pace of city life requires many of its population to have food on the go. While food is available in abundance at the costly downtown spots, most yearn for a home cooked meal and one that would meet budget constraints. This unique demand has created a place for the Indian food couriers known as tiffinwallas. They deliver a sensibly portioned homestyle meal at reasonable prices.

Mumbai Bistro is a concept centered on these ideas. First and fore-most, food should be freshly cooked everyday, and there is no substitute for quality that is freshly-made. Secondly, the best ingredients must be used keeping both taste and health in mind for a well-balanced experience. Most importantly, meals should be served in quantities that suit the customer and not the establishment. With these principles in mind, we developed the modus operandi for Mumbai Bistro, where the menu is limited so that the focus can be on freshness. Many ingredients and cooking methods that contribute to negative health factors have been eliminated. A rotating menu of main entree items and rice are served at the weighted buffet bar through out the week and then also in single serve portions, so that our customers have the freedom to choose the quantity that best serves them.
